If you don't know who Edie Sedgwick is then you're missing out! I say is, I should say was because she died in 1971. Edie was Andy Warhol's muse for a short time in the 1960's and she was declared his Superstar. She was deeply troubled, suffering with mental health issues, eating disorders and drug addiction but never lost her individual style, glamour and beauty. Her fashion sense was timeless and she still influences style icons, such as Kate Moss, today.
Grab a copy of Factory Girl starring Sienna Miller if you want an introduction to Edie. It's not a perfect representation of her, it misses out a lot of the darker elements to her life, but Sienna Miller really captures her spirit and fragility. Guy Pierce also plays an outstanding Andy Warhol. There are some great books available as well, all available on Amazon.
